Hidden in the woods of the Surrey Hills, almost a mile from the nearest road, Tanners Hatch is a fairytale cottage that's been welcoming visitors for nearly eighty years. Set in glorious woodland on the National Trust's beautiful Polesden Lacey Estate, it's ideally placed for walking, cycling, group holidays or just immersing yourself in nature. You couldn't find a more peaceful retreat. Offering hospitality to individuals, families and groups, you can stay for a night, a weekend or longer.
After nearly 80 years as the hidden gem of the UK hostel community, this iconic location sadly closed last year. Now, a group of dedicated volunteers with decades of happy memories here have partnered with the National Trust to relaunch Tanners Hatch as an independent hostel. Work is well underway to regenerate and relaunch the historic venue.
