Would you like to support us to open and run Tanners Hatch Independent Hostel, as a countryside retreat for everyone?

Tanners is an oasis of calm, hidden in the woods. There is true magic here and we aim to spread that magic to as many people, from all backgrounds, as soon as we can.

Tanners Hatch Independent Hostel has been established as a not-for-profit business with a vision to re-open Tanners Hatch and run it as an inclusive traditional affordable hostel, staffed by volunteers. The challenges and costs of maintaining and improving a 14th century building, its gardens and lands, and providing facilities to a modern standard are considerable.

Once we are open, we intend to fund improvements through bednight and camping fees, grants and donations. Donations will help to keep us going and pay for the constant improvements which are part of our culture.

Donate items to kit out the hostel

As soon as we have the keys to Tanners Hatch, which is currently completely empty, we will be able to start kitting it out. A huge thank you to everyone who has pledged items on our Kit Out list so far. We may be looking for additional items nearer the time, please watch this space.

Future cash donations

We are extremely grateful to the donors who have helped us so far. We will not be taking more cash donations until we have signed the lease. If you would like to donate, whether a small or large amount, please watch this space and we will update this page to let you know how to do this.
